Crumlin Road Prison

One of the iconic symbols of the history of Northern Ireland, Crumlin Road prison was recently visited by a group of women from all parts of Belfast, who have come together under the umbrella of the Irish Peace Centres to engage in a common conversation about their experience of conflict and their hopes for the future. The women meet every Monday morning and during these sessions they discuss some of the harder aspects of the peace building, engaging each other with their stories of personal trauma, the experience of being married to ex-prisoners and the impact of the conflict on human relatiosnhips.
