Planting Seeds, Cultivating Peace
SUSTAINABLE RELATIONS
Planting Seeds, Cultivating Peace:
The purpose of “planting seeds” is to spread the learning and deepened relationships from the core group process within participants’ spheres of influence, especially in local areas. Drawing on the experience and the core group relationships that have been developed and continuing to bring new core group participants into these “outreach” / ”ripple effect” / multiplier activities, events will take place at three layers allowing for seeds to grow and for relations to be cultivated:
1. Introduction-Foundation
Small teams of diverse participants from core groups will provide role models and engage with others at an introductory level, for example speaking to school groups or at public events such as community meetings, church gatherings, and conferences.
2. Dialogue and Discussion
Core group participants working with or involving groups of students, teachers, community people over a period of time. These activities will include a series of one day or half day encounters, and typically a residential component, thus allowing for “seeds to sprout”.
3. Deep Dialogue
Participants will engage in an in-depth series of residential and one day events. This will encourage “plants to grow from the seeds” and even to begin “bearing fruit”.
