Activity 4 – Sustainable positive relationships

The project involves the delivery of four inter-related activities, with participants from Northern Ireland and the six border counties in the Republic of Ireland. Activities from all four work streams will take place across the region, and amongst both rural and urban communities.

Activity 4 links regional relationship building to local situations, thereby increasing the impact of the relationship building work both locally and regionally. It is intended to undertake ‘deeper’ peace work with mid-level leaders on an annual basis who will in turn influence people and communities with which they work in a ripple effect.

There will be four types of activities to include: cultivating the core group of participants, planting seeds of reconciliation in local communities, promoting inter-faith relationships, and creating environments to aid the reconciliation process.

The participants on this activity stream are drawn from a wide range of community backgrounds including those from faith communities, former combatants, and community representatives.
