Programme for Cohesion, Sharing and Integration is open for consultation

Have your say on more-integrated society

The Programme for Cohesion, Sharing and Integration has been launched by OFMDFM and is now open for consultation.

To download the document, click here to be redirected to our Resource Files page.

Your views are being sought on building a less-segregated and more-integrated society. The Programme for Cohesion, Sharing and Integration aims to bring about real changes for people and places across Northern Ireland. Responses must be received no later than 29 October 2010.

Strong community

This Programme sets out goals designed to achieve a shared and better future for all. It aims to build a strong community where everyone, regardless of race, colour, religious or political opinion, age, gender, disability or sexual orientation can live, work and socialise in a context of fairness, equality, rights, responsibilities and respect.

In particular, there is a commitment to:

  • addressing the issues for disaffected young people

  • welcoming and living in harmony with our neighbours from minority ethnic backgrounds

  • tackling the conditions that lead to a continued need for urban interfaces and rural segregation
