OPEN SPACE EVENT
10th SEPTEMBER 2010
HOLIDAY INN, ORMEAU AVENUE, BELFAST
REGISTRATION 9.45am
Have you ever thought that the most valuable time spent at a conference was during the coffee breaks, when you meet the people you wanted to meet and talk about the issues you want to talk about?
Open Space Technology is an innovative style of conferencing in which the participants dictate the agenda and the variety of topics for discussion. The prerequisite: you are passionate about your choice of topic.
- This method of communication will create a space for creative dialogue, exchanging best practice, the sharing of learning and experiences and develop a greater insight into the added value of a collaborative approach to peace-building.
- Participants will identify issues relating to the overarching theme and, by taking ownership of your respective topic, will facilitate the discussion.
- The atmosphere achieved by the fluidity of discussion, positioning and debate encourages greater collaboration within the mix of participants. Complex and challenging issues will be dealt with in a productive and spontaneous way.
- There are no time-specific intervals for coffee or lunch breaks. Instead, there will be a running buffet, which will ensure that the momentum of dynamic conversation and interaction is maintained.
This is an excellent opportunity for increased dialogue and collaboration.
